As we were celebrating and rejoicing in January 2020, a well-planned list of activities for the full year. We discussed in GBM, our yearly calendar but little did we know that a shock was awaiting us in the coming days – the arrival of COVID19.
Nonetheless, with available time at hand, AMUOBA has been regularly keeping in touch with its members through its various programmes namely,
Not deterred by having lost bookings at Boulevard, Salmiya for Football and Cricket games during Hala Holidays, because of the MOI advisory to avoid gatherings at public places due to COVID19. The members missed a good chance of meeting each other at one of the most picturesque venues in Kuwait. Complementing the efforts of Government of Kuwait AMUOBA made an “Appeal COVID19” – to general public and all aligs to fully comply with the lockdown procedures. Further, in order to engage the AMU fraternity at home, we organized online Quizz and Story Writing and Drawing Competition for children.
The President thanks and appreciates the teamwork and participation of all the members for working hard and diligently in making the Association’s journey, until now, a remarkable one. A note of thanks to the EC Member, Matin ur Rahman and Joint General Secretary Tariq Wasim for, respectively, playing a lead role in organising the General Body Meeting and Blood Donation Camp at the Central Blood Bank. The GBM and the blood donation initiative, drew extraordinary gathering. Both the events played a vital role in bringing face to face the members of the Association.
Our senior EC Members Mohammad Parvaiz Khan and Abdus Samad together with Niyaz Akhtar and Yousuf Abdullah has guided the association from time to time in its decisions and policy making. Ahteshamullah Khan, played an instrumental role in carefully maintaining the record of the Association members. The entire Executive Council of AMUOBA has risen to the responsibility assigned to them in organising various programmes and events, mentioned separately.
A special token of thanks become due to Mr. Asim Mahfuz Kidwai and his team comprising of Mr. Tariq Ahmad Sibtey and Mr. Khurram Sayeed for arduously carrying out the special task assigned to them by the General Body.
In the end, one name that of Masroor Alam, the General Secretary – it would be uncourteous, if we do not thank him for his role in keeping the association and its activities joined together. He had been the lifeline of the Association.
The Kuwait Chapter of AMUOBA, is an outcome of inspiration and decent support of various distinguished personalities of AMU fraternity in Kuwait. We thank our well-wishers for their invaluable encouragement.
